The Haughton River Floodplain upgrade project
Works have commenced on the $500m upgrade of the Bruce Highway south of Townsville through the Haughton River floodplain. Topo is assisting with development of staged ESC plans for the contractor, as well as undertaking periodic audits throughout the project. Works involve safety and drainage upgrades to improve flood resilience. As with any works completed within a floodplain, drainage is a key challenge during construction. We look forward to seeing this project progress and ultimately deliver a safer travel route for road users.
