Inland Rail - Parkes to Narromine section upgrade
Works are well and truly under way on the Inland Rail project between Parkes to Narromine in NSW. It involves upgrading 98.4km of existing rail track, building 5.3km of new rail track and upgrading a vast number of level crossings, sidings and culverts.
Works commenced in the south, near Parkes, on the North West Connection, extending north towards Peak Hill.
Obviously management of Erosion and Sediment Control on linear projects constructed on such a vast scale is always a challenge, however at Topo we’ve developed some clever ways to standardise work methods with consideration given to soil and water management, and we continue to evolve these to best suit particular constraints and ground conditions.
