Bruce Highway - Rockhampton Northern Access Upgrade
Topo are providing ongoing support on the Rockhampton Northern Access Upgrade, which focuses on addressing safety and capacity issues identified on the Bruce Highway approximately 7km north of the centre of Rockhampton.
Works involve construction of two new lanes and reconstruction of existing lanes between the Rockhampton-Yeppoon Road in the south and Terranova Drive to the north. Works also involve replacement of existing and construction of new bridge structures crossing Limestone Creek and Ramsay Creek, realignment of Boundary Road west of the Bruce Highway, and a raised centre median to separate northbound and southbound traffic.
Unlike major greenfields projects, ESC planning focused heavily on the integration of traffic management staging and prioritisation of erosion control through the constrained road corridor.
